Monthly social meetings are normally held on the third Monday of each month, from September to June, and usually include a presentation on some nautical topic. The details will be posted here when the information is available.

The meetings are held at the False Creek Yacht Club, 1661 Granville St. (under the Granville Bridge), and start at 7:30 PM. Doors (and bar) open at 7:00 PM. Admission $5.00 except as noted.

May 4/5Cruise Weekend at Snug Cove, Bowen Island

To get priority, please reserve space by April 20, 2013! Phone the Union Steamship Marina at 604-947-0707 (and say you are with the Vancouver Power & Sail Squadron group).

  • Please arrive by around 1300.
  • Potluck dinner on Saturday evening.
  • You can book for the Friday night, May 3rd as well, if you'd like.

NB: This event is for all Squadron members, with or without boats - if you don't have a boat, please come over by ferry and join us in the potluck dinner!!

May 13BBQ & AGM - Further details in the April Masthead

The price is maintained at $20.00 including the usual $5.00 entry charge. Preceding the AGM, the BBQ will start at 1830 (6:30 pm) at the False Creek Yacht Club. There will be chicken, beef and veggie burgers plus an assortment of salads plus burger fixings plus fruit and sweet items for desert.

Please email Don Mercer (Past Commander) at donmercer@shaw.ca with your names and burger choices for each name.

Please note that due to the long weekend, the BBQ and AGM will be held on the 2nd Monday instead of the 3rd Monday of the month.

May 18 - 24Safe Boating Awareness Week The READY-SET-WEAR IT launch will be May 18 at 1030 at the Vanier Boat Launch. Great chance to test your inflatable PFDs, etc. Mustang will provide replacement CO2 cylinders
June 8/9The Stag Cruise will be held on June 8/9, 2013 in Indian Arm - see the March Masthead for full information and registration form
Sept 14 - 15Keats Island Rendezvous - please mark your calendars - more information about specifics will be sent out via email in the summer.
Sept 2120th Annual Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup

Location: Vanier Park Boat Ramp (by the ex-Kits Coast Guard Station)

Starts from the shoreline by the ex-Coast Guard station to the end of the "dog beach" on the side of the spit that houses the boat collection at the Martime Museum.

Time and meeting place: 1000 - 1500hrs. come down to the parking lot near the ex Coast Guard station There will be a table set up with signs showing Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.
